Through the eyes of the mother
Like every woman, I wanted to become a mother too. My husband and I dreamed of having a child, and after one pregnancy test, this wish came true. We were really looking forward to the arrival of our baby.
The first thing I did was that I confirmed my pregnancy at a gynaecologist in Trnava. I responsibly completed all mandatory examinations, screenings, blood tests and ultrasounds. I paid for one extra ultrasound examination, which was not covered by the insurance company, as I wanted to make sure that the child was fine as I was told the whole time. The answer was that he is a beautiful, healthy boy. Moreover, I got great results from all my blood tests and diabetes tests.
So I enjoyed my pregnancy, as I had no difficulties and was looking forward to the arrival of my child. The day came and the baby wanted to come to this world. My husband took me to the Ružinov University Hospital in Bratislava, where I was kept for observation, as my labour was starting slowly. The main “climax” came in the morning, when the doctor informed me that my child would be born in any moment and my husband could come to be with us. When the baby came, with fear in my eyes and in my voice, I asked the doctor what was going on, since I did not hear the baby cry. The doctor reassured me that it would be fine and that I would see my baby soon.
However, he informed me that my Leuško’s right leg is not developed from the knee. Emotions of happiness alternated with emotions of fear for my little boy. After being released from the hospital, my husband and I were looking forward to going home taking on the roles of parents, enjoying our Leuško, despite the fact that we had many more examinations ahead of us. As Leo grows, I see a strong and handsome boy in him who has the will to fight and overcome all examinations with a smile on his face. Although I still do not know when my little boy will walk, I do believe that it will be soon and we will enjoy his first steps. I love him very much. ❤
